Great Poets in The Guardian

Over in the UK, The Guardian newspaper is publishing a series of booklets on seven great poets of the 20th century. The poets in this series include TS Eliot, WH Auden, Sylvia Plath, Philip Larkin, Ted Hughes, Seamus Heaney, and Siegfried Sassoon. Sigh. It's a shame newspapers in Canada and the US don't undertake projects like this...

From The Guardian:

Each booklet includes a generous selection of the poet's best known and most acclaimed work.

Their poetry is accompanied by introductions from prominent literary figures, archive reviews and facsimile reproductions of their original manuscripts.

A CD, narrated by Guardian literary editor Claire Armitstead, offers the remarkable experience of hearing these great poets read their own work.
