A Poetic Sandwich at 116 Crown

I tried this fried green tomato sandwich the other day at 116 Crown in New Haven: fried green tomatoes, purple basil, lettuce, manchego, and aioli. Despite the fried tomatoes, it was deceptively light. I'm digging the promo vid for the sandwich; I would never have guessed that Dylan Thomas made a good pitchman for food.

But if you're in the mood for something "richer", then I would recommend the aptly named John D. Rockefeller sandwich: pork belly, asiago, cornichons, smoked prosciutto, baby lettuces, fried oyster, Dijon mustard, Sriracha aioli, on artisan bread.

Holy delicious heart-attack, Batman!
