Wikipedia has an overview of what happened in the world of poetry in 2008. What I find most interesting about these types of things are the omissions. Particularly the fact that according to Wikipedia only two books of poetry in 2008 were published in languages other than English. Still, if you'd like a good rundown on who won what award, who died, what was published, etc. then I'd check it out.
