Conundrum & Black Heart News

I wasn't in town to catch the Conundrum Press 10th Anniversary party on May 18th. Too bad. It would have been nice to see the launching of The Portable Conundrum anthology, as well as Beauty is a Liar by Valerie Joy Kalynchuk. Conundrum Press is one of the few literary trade publications in Canada that regulary publishes comics. They also produce some of the most beautiful and aesthetically interesting books around.

Read more about it on rob mclennan's website here.

Also, Black Heart is at the Anarchist Bookfair Saturday, May 20th (TODAY!) If you've been itching to get your hands on the latest issue (#3) or still haven't picked up a copy of issue #2, head on over to CEDA (2515 Delisle, metro Lionel-Groulx) sometime between 10am and 6pm. You still have time!

A couple poems of mine are in the latest print issue (they're part of a yet-untitled series that is scheduled to start in June and appear bi-monthly on Black Heart Online. Stay tuned for more info on that) so if you want to be one of the lucky few to get their hands on the mag before the official launch; go now!

I'll be be back to my regular posting ways when I return home to Montreal tomorrow.

By the way, I was invited to a pirate-themed party and came up with a Canlit pirate joke:

Q: What 19th century Canadian poet to pirates like?

A: ARRRchibald Lampman

I didn't say it was good.
