I picked up the new print issue of Broken Pencil (#29) and Black Heart Magazine has been chosen to be their June Zine of the Month.
The review by Andree Lachapelle is very kind to the zine and of course I'm very flattered that my poem "About That Night" was given a little plug. It's a poem I hold dear to my heart because it will always remind me of that magical evening in Mexico when I had one too many tequilas, met a girl, and well... the rest is history. At least now it's been immortalized in print for the whole world to read. On second thought, maybe that's not such a good thing...
Support indy culture and buy yourself a copy of Broken Pencil. It's a great resource to find out what's hot right now in literature, poetry, zines, and alternative media.
I also really dig the current issue's 'burlesque' theme. Those of you who know me, know I'm a stickler for carnivalesque, burlesque, grotesque... really anything with 'esque' in it.
