The first edition of Le Slash is now available at Champlain St-Lawrence Regional College in Quebec and in Montreal at Concordia's Co-op Bookstore.
The store is located in Concordia's Hall building in the basement space below Reggie's pub. You can find it either by walking through Java U or Reggies and descending a flight of stairs or go through the terrace behind the Hall Building and enter the doors from there.
Le Slash is a new independent French/English magazine, published four times a year, devoted to poetry and short fiction.
In the first issue you can find three of my poems: "Cyberlovin", "Sneaking Up On a Poem", and "Say It Ain't So" as well as a short story entitled, "Checkpoint".
Pick one up if you have a chance. They're free so you won't be hurting your wallets by grabbing one.
I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out although I noticed a number of typos in some spots of the zine. I do know the editor of the magazine and her first language isn't English so it's understandable there might be some mistakes now and then but I find spelling errors and problems with grammar to be one of the first things I zero in on when I'm reading.
But not to worry, you won't find any typos in my submissions (at least ones I haven't noticed). The spelling as far as I'm concerned is 100% correct. The one thing I do apologize for, however, is the content of my works and for that, my dear reader, I ask you to forgive me.
Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt, to you I also say I'm sorry for using your painful breakup to write "Say It Ain't So". That's just exploitation on my part. I really do like both of you. Jennifer, for providing us with so much laughter from your stint on Friends and Brad, for providing us so much laughter for your part in Troy. I mean seriously, your portrayal of Achilles was hilarious.
