Listening to Fanta's bubbles pop
The heat and humidity coming from Montreal has finally caught up with the Maritimes and hit Sackville full force yesterday like Thor's mighty hammer. During the show last night, it felt like we were drowning in liquid air and even the mosquitoes seemed drunk from the heat.
We almost had to move everything indoors too because it started raining but the Gods were on our side - oops,God. I mean God - and it only ended up being a drizzle.
When I got back to the apartment I wanted to peel off my shirt and stand in front of the fan all evening but Jen (Maryn's roommate for the school year and who had just arrived from Ireland) was visiting so I restrained myself. At least temporarily.
Since Jen has her car we've all decided that sometime this summer we're going to make our way over to Parlee beach to take advantage of the warmest salt water north of the Carolinas. In the four years I lived in Sackville, I had never gone to the beach in Shediac so I figure it's about time.
Anyway, I'm starting to melt away like the Wicked Witch of the West so I'd better go find a way to cool down.
"I'm melting, I'm melting, oh what a world!"
