Brother, Hulkamania is STILL running wild...
Yesterday evening I had the privelege to attend the WWE Smackdown taping at the Molson centre. After the Canadians lost their playoff game, people needed someone to cheer and that someone was Hulk Hogan. I was never a big fan of the guy growing up. I always thought the smaller, faster wrestlers like "Macho Man" Randy Savage and Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat" were more interesting but after the thunderous ovation he recieved last night, I was convinced that Hulkamania was alive and well.
I had floor seats so I was able to see the wrestlers quite clearly and most of the wrestlers seemed smaller than on TV but the main event guys were all HUGE! Hogan, Triple H, Albert, Rikiski, Mark Henry... all monsters. I was able to shake hands with Tazz - one of the Smackdown announcers and Hogan's. Awesome experience. There were also a lot of famous Montrealers in attendance such as: Marc Gagnon, Andre Savard, Michel Therrien, George Gillet, and Gino Oldjick.
After I heard about the huge ovation at Wrestlemanie I never thought anyone could top the ovation that Hulk Hogan got, but that night at the The Molson Center, we sure did. The crowd was absolutely deafening when Hulk Hogan made his entrance. The HOGAN chants lasted at least 7 minutes and Hogan started crying. It was an amazing sight to see the entire Molson Center on their feet and bowing down to the living legend.
After the event Josh came over antd we watched Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace to get ourselves excited about the new movie coming out on Thursday. Unfortunately, Episode 1 is a mediocre movie. We hoped that it wouldn't be as bad as we remembered it but a bad movie never becomes a good movie because you want it to. Hopfully Georege Lucas has learned his lesson and has stopped listening to his kids for suggestions.
Whatcha gonna do brother, when GREGamania runs wild on you??? (One can dream right?)
