May the force be with you...
I have seen Star wars Episode 2: Attack of the Clones and here is my verdict...
GO SEE IT! I entered the theatre with low expectations and came out raving. Why did I go in with low expectations? I'll explain. A few days ago I rented Episode 1 with my friend Josh to get in the spirit of the new movie. However after watching it, we came to the realization that Episode 1 was a complete failure. The storyline was boring (A trade war? Goodnight...), the characters were flat (The only memorable characters were Qui Gonn Jinn and Darth Maul who both ended up dying and Jar Jar and Anakin were both memorable but for all the wrong resaons), the movie relied to heavily on special effects, I could go on but overall the movie was the worst and most expensive B - movie ever made. There I've said it. George Lucas should be ashamed of the film. It was not worthy to be called a Star Wars movie. Like my friend Josh said, "Take away the light-sabres and you have a totally different movie." After watching it I almost didn't end up wanting to see Episode 2.
Now that I've seen it, George Lucas has totally redeemed himself. The characters form real bonds, they have senses of humour, the tensions of the main characters are dead on, the movie; although filled with special effects is driven by the characters and not only the special effects - which I must admit are really well done, and the movie is a lot darker than Episode 1 which is a very good thing. I could go on but I'd be writing for a long time. Once again go see it. I can't believe it, an amazing Spiderman movie and a near perfect Star Wars prequel. This is looking to be a great summer for movies. Keep it up Hollywood!
