Merry Christmas
Hello everyone, Merry Christmas to all. It's been a few days since I last updated my site but I figured it would be a good idea to update it today on Christmas. My family celebrates Christmas on Christmas Eve rather than on Christmas day, its tradition.
We went to church at 8:00 pm and it was a very nice service. I really enjoyed the "living nativity scene" with the children of our church portraying Mary, Joseph, etc. It was a different service that allowed the children to get more involved with the church. If it includes theatre, then I'm all for it :)
We came back to our house for Christmas dinner. My mom always makes the same thing... however I wouldn't have it any other way. Watercress soup, roast lamb, with roast vegetables and portablello mushrooms (They sure don't serve that at meal hall). Mmmmmmm-mmmmmmm.
I handed out the presents after dinner (I've taken the role of Santa over the past couple of years). Everyone seemed happy with their presents. I got some money, "Gladiator" and "Shrek" (yesssssss!) on DVD, the "Big Shiny Tunes CD", some books including "High Fidelity" and "The Notebooks of Alfred Hitchock", a scarf and gloves, etc.
Even though we did not have a Christmas tree, it didn't seem to matter. We were all happy just to be togther. Christmas is not Christmas because of a Christmas tree, or lights, or even the presents. We are celebrating the birth of Jesus, who preached love and compassion to this world. Humans are flawed, and we aren't perfect however if we are able to be compassionate, and not judge others, then perhaps we come a little bit closer to what he wanted. Christmas is not about presents, it's about being with your family and being thankful for what you have and for your health.
Have a Merry Christmas everyone!
