Dear Readers,
Thank you so much for your patience with my cryptic countdown. I don’t want to keep you waiting any longer, so here we go:
My first full-length book, The Emperor’s Sofa, is going to be published by DC Books, through their Punchy Writers Series.
Over the next few months, I’ll be working with my editor, Jason Camlot, to get my manuscript polished and ready for publication in the fall of 2010.
I’m really looking forward to working with Jason and I’m also thrilled to have my first book of poetry published by DC Books, a Montreal-based publishing house with a rich history. It’s a homecoming of sorts for me, as I was born and raised in Montreal and I feel a deep kinship with its literary traditions. So this means a lot.
DC Books was founded by the great Canadian publisher, literary critic, and poet, Louis Dudek. It was Dudek who published Let Us Compare Mythologies, the first book by a young McGill undergrad named Leonard Cohen.
I’m honoured to be a Punchy Writer, joining the likes of Stuart Ross, Gillian Sze and Nick McArthur (my former Concordia University classmates!), Arjun Basu, Nathanial G. Moore, Angela Szczepaniak, and Eve Moran.
Thanks to all my amazing family and friends for supporting this crazy dream of mine.
Thanks to Jason Camlot and Steve Luxton (editor-in-chief of DC Books) for their support of my book which began as my MFA thesis at The New School.
Stay tuned for more news as I embark on this exciting journey.
