Sylvia Plath (1932 - 1963)

Sylvia Plath, arguably one of the greatest poets of the 20th century died 45 years ago, today. Plath's story, her troubled life, and stormy relationship with fellow poet Ted Hughes sometimes overshadows the genius of her work, still, her poetry remains as powerful today as it did when she was still alive.

Recently on the Poetry Off the Shelf podcast, they took a close look at one of the last poems Plath ever wrote entitled, "Fever 103°", and we are also given the opportunity to hear her give a reading. Give it a listen, Plath's delivery is simply chilling.

Listen to Gimme Fever: Burning at a hundred and three with Sylvia Plath.
