If you follow this blog regularly, you're probably well aware of the fact that I celebrate poetry pretty much every day of the year and don't need a special month to enjoy verse, but still, these sites are excellent resources. Here's a list of 30 Ways to celebrate National Poetry Month.
While I do see the celebration of National Poetry Month as an overall good thing, it has also sparked a debate among many poets. Critics suggest that National Poetry Month trivializes the art form and floods the market with books in a matter of just a few weeks, overwhelming readers. With that in mind, I'd also like to include a link to an essay by American poet, Charles Bernstein, calling for an International Anti-Poetry month. Read it here.

Happy National Poetry Month!
I don't think Happy National Poetry is bad for poetry. I just think it's bad for Charles Bernstein's poetry.
Wow. That came out so horribly wrong it almost looks like spam. What I meant to say is:
I don't think National Poetry Month is bad for poetry. I just think it's bad for Charles Bernstein's poetry.
But, like a joke you have to explain, my little quip sounds totally stupid now. That's what I get for getting zealous with the cut-and-paste.
Ha ha, no worries. Happy National Poetry Month, Robert!
