Poems of the week launched

The current Parlimenatary Poet Laureate of Canada, Pauline Michel, has unveiled the new Poems of the Week site. The project began in 2003 during George Bowering's post as Canada's first Poet Laureate.

The new site aims to showcase poets via the internet whose works represent the diverse voices in contemporary Canadian poetry. Every week two poems, one in English and one in French, will be posted on the site until the end of Pauline Michel's term in November 2006.

The first two poets are John B. Lee and Eric Roger.
