No I haven't fallen of the face of the earth but a Nabokov essay I've been working on for the past while sure has taken a lot longer to complete than I had originally planned.

It really hasn't sunk in that classes are over; I'm still busy finishing up applications, portfolios, etc for grad schools so I haven't really had the time to enjoy the "time off". I am glad however that my (2) exams don't start until after the 19th which gives me time to focus on everything else I need to do.

On a completely different note, because I volunteered at the Montreal Fringe Festival a few years ago I got an e-mail from Mainline Theatre - their swanky new theatre space - and they were advertising an upcoming show that sounds awesome! The show doesn't open until January 25th so it's a little early but I figured I'd give it a plug.

I'm talking about Johnny Canuck & The Last Burlesque. Here's the description from their website:

"New burlesque may be all the rage, but burlesque was much more than striptease and saucy MCs. Johnny Canuck and the Last Burlesque revives classic comedy, magic, choreography, song, and - of course! - striptease to conjure post-war Montreal. Three men, three women, three Marx Brothers and four musicians use the forgotten traditions of burlesque to create a love letter to a lost Montreal. From the creators of two-time MECCA nominee Quasi-Murder ."

I would love to see a Vaudeville-style act in person and this definetely seems right up my alley. I mean seriously, who in their right mind would refuse an evening of comedy, magic, song, and strippers!?

No one that's who.
