Lord, what fools these mortals be!
Good evening ladies and gentlemen, I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I know I did - although I'm still recovering from my bike ride... I don't think my thighs will ever be the same.
Maryn and I went to the weekly market at the Sackville Civic Center on Sunday and bought some homemade blackberry jam, rhubarb squares, fudge, and pickled beets from a super sweet lady, Yvonne, who was a janitor at Harper Hall (our old dorm). It's so great to know that the food was prepared with tender loving care rather than being mass-produced.
Yvonne was also nice enough to sell Maryn a 10 speed mountain bike for $10 which made Maryn extremely happy since she's been looking to buy a bicycle ever since our little trip to Port Elgin. I haven't owned a bike for a number of years - I had a great mountain bike when I was younger but I'd probably be a little big for it now so I'm looking forward to getting one so I can hit the trails when I go back to Montreal.
The rehearsals for A Midsummer Night's Dream are going very well. We had a dress run tonight and the costumes really helped everyone get in character. The Festival by the Marsh opening night is tomorrow and our play opens on Thursday the 14th of July. There has been a lot of promotion going on all around the Maritimes and it's looking to be one of the biggest festivals in the region. The next few weeks will be filled with activities, concerts, and theatrical shows which should be very entertaining and I'm really excited to be part of all the hoopla. Here's a link that tells you more about the festival: Festival By The Marsh
Oh and when you go to the site and see the small picture of Titania (the fairy) and Bottom (the um ass-headed-man) on the top right of the page and the larger image of Titania crouching on the bottom left; I took those photographs. Quite the shutterbug, eh?
