I saw a midnight showing Batman Begins last night with Josh and I have mixed feelings over the film. I thought the movie started off well, the casting is great and there were plenty of memorable moments, however, the last half of the movie got way too cheesy. It's as if the scriptwriters used up all their brain power trying to build-up the character so by the time Bruce Wayne finally makes an appearance as the Caped Crusader, the writers had run out of steam and had to end up relying on superhero cliches and lame lines.

It's a shame really because it had the potential of being a really great adaptation. I'd still take Tim Burton's take on Batman anyday - though Christian Bale's portrayal as Batman was excellent. I don't want to fault the actors because they did a great job; I blame the scriptwriters and Christopher Nolan for what seems like a hurried and nonsensical ending.

Continuing with the Dark Knight theme, here's a small article I found quite entertaining involving the new Batmobile. Whatever my feelings about the movie, I have to admit that the Batmobile was really cool.

Bale's Batmobile bash (BANG) - Christian Bale has been banned from driving the Batmobile - after a drunk driver ploughed into him as he was driving the custom-built super car to the 'Batman Begins' Canadian premiere.

The 31-year-old actor, who plays the Caped Crusader in the movie, says the drunk motorist was so "freaked out" at seeing the ?,000 mean machine cruising down a Toronto street, he crashed his car.

The star said: "One of the best parts of the job was being allowed to drive the Batmobile in public. But it was obviously very bemusing for people.

"This one guy saw the Batmobile and completely freaked out. He must have thought aliens were landing or something and smacked into the side of me.

"That was the last time I was allowed to drive it on a public highway."

The Batmobile has a 5.7 litre engine, wings, 44-inch wheels and a rear-mounted jet engine.

Christian added: "It really flies. Unfortunately, when I asked if I could keep it, they refused."
