"So Long": Guster
Hey everyone. No I'm not dead. I'm alive and well. I'm also enjoying my summer vacation - although it feels a bit too cold for it to be summer vacation but you get my drift. It's been a few days since my last entry so I'll try and keep you updated on what I've been up to. It still amazes me that anyone even cares about little old me so I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that has been following this weblog since it's birth many months ago. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! A big thanks goes out to my number one fan - HI MOM :)
I spent the day hanging out with my friends Josh and Ryan downtown and we went shopping. Can you believe it? A bunch of guys going shopping and actually enjoying it? I know, I know, it's strange. So sue me. Anyways, we went to dinner at Sofia's which is a restaurant on St. Laurent. I had a really good meal. Calamari, and Fettucini with prosciutto, braised chicken, and green olives - I dare meal hall to provide students with that kind of meal. Two good dinners, two nights in a row. The night before I had dinner with my mother at Tao, a Chinese restaurant that we frequent...well...frequently.
I later saw Buffalo 66 with Josh. He's been ranting and raving about this film for a while now so we figured it was time to see it. Sorry Josh it wasn't my favourite movie of all time. I think you hyped it up a little too much :) However, I do agree that it is an ingenious little film. It was very dark, and the characters aren't very likeable but there was something very human about the film. The characters were really well done, Vincent Gallo is a brilliant writer, actor, and filmmaker.
Today I went to YES - Youth Employment Services, to attend an artists workshop on "Selling Your Paintings". The speaker was an accomplished artist who does landscape paintings and portraits of CEO's. Yes, I know those sound like two totally different things but after looking at examples of his work, when you're that good, it's easy to switch genres at the drop of a hat. I can't remember his name but when I find it, I'll post it so that you know who I'm talking about. It was interesting to talk ro him as well as other aspiring artists from Montreal. I even met a girl who graduated from Mount Allison a few years ago. It's such a small world.
Well, I've done my catching up. I'm going to go and watch some tv before I go to sleep. G'night!
