"Days of the Week": Stone Temple Pilots
We had a floor meeting last night for the 4th floor guys and all I can say is... "Can't we all just get along?" I had no idea tensions were so high. There are about 20 or so guys living on this floor and there is a clear line that seperates the two. There are those that tend to party and blast their music, and there are those who tend to to be more quiet and studious. However, there have been complaints from both parties either stating that Craig is being too strict or that he's not being strict enough. I think it's unfair for people to unload on Craig because he's the monitor when it's quite possible to have a decent, conversation amongst each other rather than have the monitor intervene all the time.So the main reason for last night's little meeting was to have a healthy discussion between both groups to perhaps find a solution or if a solution isn't possible, maybe a compromise.
Tensions were quite high sometimes between both groups but I think it was a good thing that we were able to bring our feelings out in the open. I can understand both sides. We are here at school, in an educational institution to study but we are also living in a dormitory with other people. People don't have the same tastes. That's a given. However, I think that there should be a balance between partying and studying. Studying all the time is unhealthy, yet partying and drinking all the time is unhealthy as well. Of course, these are both extremes but I think it's possible to do both. I think the issue is that some people haven't been that considerate about other people's need. I mean it's common sense that people will get angry if your blaring your music at 1:00 in the morning, and people are most probably sleeping. I also think that there's no problem in playing your music after classes are over to unwind. Volume and consideration people. That's all.
These are all just my thoughts, not to be taken as gospel. I really do hope that some of these issues are resolved now that they've been talked about. Once again... "Can't we all just get along?" Peace out kids.
